My main knowledge of my older sisters and brothers comes from my parents, who as I was growing up kept me aware that I had other siblings and what they did and how they were related to me. That and the comings and goings at various times of my life, the general family gossip line and eventually my own excursions out to see the rest of the family has given me an insight into their lives.

My brother John is my oldest brother and the one I know least well. He lives on the coast of Oregon in North Bend with his wife, Larinda, and their four children, Charles, Alex, Larissa and Jordan. John runs a garage that repairs and services fancy foreign cars.

Although I had seen John off and on all my life, I finally visited his home a couple of years ago. While I was there, he taught me how to handle a gun and the basics of how to drive a motor vehicle. The area where he lives is great for doing those kinds of things, since it is away from the city with lots of wide open space.

I also got a chance to meet and hang out with my nephews and niece, getting to know them for the first time.
