Don Bluth

Bluth, a former Disney animator, has branched out into his own animation production company. Born in 1938, Bluth worked for Disney during their dark period during the 1970's. Bluth left the company in 1979 and began work on his own films. Despite the success of some of his earliest features (The Secret of NIMH (1982), An American Tail (1986) and The Land Before Time (1988)), much of Bluth's later work (the horrendous Rock-a-Doodle (1992) included) were mostly paltry imitations of Disney stories, usually relying on the outdated method of cute-and-cuddly storylines and characters with absolutely no personality whatsoever.
