To use this navigational tool to best advantage keep the following in mind:

  1. There will be extra windows popping up to the upper left hand side of the screen. So, make the size of your main window somewhat smaller than full screen. These extra windows are resizeable and movable.

  2. The yellow notes that appear when you move the mouse over the image links will give a brief explanation of where the link leads.

  3. The larger yellow notes that accompany the download of the link, but in a separate window, will give you some idea of how to surf the site, what's interesting and what is unusual.

  4. If either of these yellow note windows gets lost behind screen clutter, minimize other windows until some part of them reappears and then click on the body of the window to bring it back toward the front.

  5. If you use Netscape Navigator, the preferred browser, do not "kill" the yellow screen at any time by clicking on the "X" in the upper right corner. If you do, it will be very difficult to bring back.

  6. If you use Internet Explorer, which has serious bugs with JavaScript, you MUST "kill" the extra windows by clicking on the "X" in the upper left corner. If you do not, they will tend to accumulate.

  7. You can always use the "Back" button of the browser or in the yellow window to step backward in the tour or click on the icon at the top of the yellow page to return to the portal.

  8. The screens may take a while to download and start the first time, but if you make this entrance to the World Wide Web your "home page" (the instructions on how to do this are in the window at the upper left), your browser will store the images so they will come up MUCH faster the next time you surf the Web.

To return to the tour, hit the "Back" button now.
