Purposely Me

by

Denimari Zienowicz

Never achieving wealth, fame or
anything akin to star status
I still want to run up the stairs of my life
and sit on top of my world
and yell out
ok, I've been hated for
things out of my control
loved for reasons I'll never know
Riduculed and spited,
tossed aside for other frivolous dreams
but at the core of it all, still
grew a heart and loving soul
with an infinity of passion
that fills up the mirror of my life
with the sweetest damn reflections
anyone could ever imagine.
Thank God for giving me the
time to do it all.

Between Now and Then

by

Denimari Zienowicz

Between now and then
A million raindrops can fall
A million minutes as I wait for your call
As if the air would vanish into itself
Taking me hostage - not breathing
Not loving - till then

Between now and then
A few laughs will be heard
A few tears will spoil the day
As if night would have no end
Losing the day - not feeling
Not loving - till then

Between now and then
A little death will overcome me
A little hurt will drain my smile
As if time would absorb the pain
Leaving my heart - abandoned
Not loving - till then

Between now and then
A devil could steel our dream
A desire could not be fulfilled
As if moments were not precious
Sitting in sorrow - not dreaming
Not loving - till then

Beautiful Energy

by

Denimari Zienowicz

Enormous energy
slipped into every crack
of the hard worn road traveled
flat and dry

Yet dusty and midstream
colder in the bones than normal
A halo of trust begins to circle
water pours down into the road
A sprig of life is found amid
one cracked vein

Vanities lair has gone on hiatus
riches are found in feelings
laying aside the day and night
As beauty fades
she still might crave
the knight to spill
out his professed love
on the pavement between
heaven and hell

By my tongue
I’m forced to see the truth
No sense to be naive
The grains of life should see the sun
not hide between
doubts dramatic self-pity

If man is meant to pull me up
the dark should merge to light
Veer then lamb against the cracks
With energy
trust or might
