Veiled Emotions

by

Ronnie Zeller

It is said that friendship is pricelsess,
But it just isn't enough with her.
The way I feel is subtle and hidden on the outside;
But on the inside it is as bright as ten suns.
If I could only mention the way I feel,
It would make things much easier between us.
Or would it?
Would she brush me off like dirt,
Or take me in and keep me in her heart?
Each time the words try to sneak out of my mouth,
They are forced back in like escaped prisoners.
Will she ever know how I feel?
Will she ever feel the same way?
I shall find out soon enough,
For my tongue can hold it in no longer.
