Space With Open Land

by

Jeremy Zakis

There is a country, not a place
With open land, not open space

Deserts and mountains from East to West,
Put early explorers to the test.

Snow on some mountains, rocks on others,
Foothills that look like little brothers.

This place Australia far and free,
Made of rock and sand and mineral and tree.

The only real place for me...you see

This country that is open space,
Or is it open land? I rest my case.

Pity In The City

by

Jeremy Zakis

People dwelling in the city,
For country Folk say 'what a pity'.
Cows and grass are life for he,
Building inhibit what he see.

Pity its the city for me,
Grass and cows no care you see.
Steel and Masonary I love more,
No oak crafted pretty country door.

Bustling people all 'round town,
Will often get country Folk down.
Australian cities on the coast,
Looking like steel man-made ghosts.

Pity in the city thats what some feel,
For our country friends it isn't real.
I don't care for it's here I like,
Not sitting next to farmer mike.
