For Hope

by

Thomas Wolfe

For the continuum of time and place to stand still
For an endless kiss that transcends emotions and thrill
For just one tear to trickle from those ocean-blue eyes
For a glimpse at the affection that smile can't disguise

To hear your laughter cascade on my ears so silent
To caress your breast that heaves with life so vibrant
To tenderly stroke your auburn hair so fine
To entwine your soul inseparably with mine

For this and more to happen in a well-nigh place
Or perchance the ability to forever see your face
I will stand guard with the keys to passion and love
And constantly search for a sign from above

Eyes That Dance

by

Thomas Wolfe

Eyes that dance, hint of romance, that darting glance, wants another chance

Shapely mouth a chatter, makes hearts a patter, does it all matter, each live’s almost shatter

Fingers brush his skin, kindred souls leaps within, sound reaches deaf din, soaking the moment in.

Time stood still, testing one’s will, engage all thy skill, make only presence fill

Put destined outlook aside, stem the emotional tide, extend this choppy ride, love neither can hide

August Apart

by

Thomas Wolfe

Beam with delight, upon first sight
Eyes peer within, the magic begins
Lips purse apart, crescendo to start

Tingled hands caress, mere clothes undress
Clenched bodies embrace, slow the pace
Torrid souls kiss, transcend the abyss

Separation is pain, time does sustain
Distance some matter, faint images scatter
Music to remember, rush to September

Setting red sun, return to one
More moments behold, days to unfold
Deep love shines, Hope be mine

I searched the ragged town
looking for an oasis-
a green patch of earth littered with stones
among the shacks and empty wharehouses.

O'lost I wondered where you were
rotting away in this sad little hole
but the place they put you was indeed beautiful.

O"lost you would shudder to think
of the things that surrond you
their decay and their stink.
I am not describing the coffins that reside near
but the town itself, the one you held dear.

O'lost how sad would you be
they spelled Asheville wrong on this websight- how stupid can they be?

Wind

by

Thomas Wolfe

i ride above the wind of the world with my own solitude singing
flying over the days and nights - as his angel would,
whirling outward into the azure landscapes of autumn
like an ancient prophetess
of that time
when i knew who it all was about
to live . . .

and i cry a tear for him
though he is never here
and i try to forget him
though he haunts me more than mountains of the lands
where i came from - blood reddened leaves bleed for October by the land of Tennessee
where country music dances through all the souls
pondering eternity with a light or two, . . .
but he has lost the light.

remember, remember, remember me
lost, lost, lost
flying upon the edges of wonder
cloaked in the bloody trails of history
as woman.

and the wind sings of the cabin in the hollow of ancestors
and a candle was lit in the highlands
burned from two flames
melting into the moonlight.

so i am solemn
so i weep
so i pine
so i do what i do
all the ways there are to do
i do
time
cannot span the infinity of the heaven
i knew.

i look away.
so i cannot see anything
and bounce the clouds upon the rocks
in my dreams
when this old time passes to the new time
wishing for the future
to be the same.

let my light grow calm and even
upon this wind
upon this force
so that the promise is kept for one
though he may never know me.

for just one waltz,
i dream.
