children of sarajavo

by

Michael Widdop

Nights light up again in flames
The children know it's no a show
They've seen it all before
For where can they flee
Where can they go
The children of Sarajavo

Freedom lies only in there minds
Through sad eyes that tell of all
No tears can they cry
For where can they flee
Where can they go
The children of Sarajavo

Mothers, fathers dying each day
Brothers, sisters never seen again
No warmth no love forevermore
For where can they flee
Where can they go
The children of Sarajavo

Their little faces pleading for love
A touch of kindness would be enough
Though for many it's been to long
For where can they flee
Where can they go
The children of Sarajavo

People of all nations must now unite
Show these children that we do care
Hold out the hand of freedom
Show where they can be
Where they can go
The children of Sarajavo
