What I See

by

Kate Weber

I look at my face in the mirror
And think it could've been me
Who people are wondering
Was it so awful
Why didn't she tell us
But instead it was you
Who now stalks my dreams
While I try to understand
Just exactly why
Why
But you took that answer with you
I just hope you knew
When you took your own life
That there were people
Who would love you forever

The clouds fog over
In pain
And in unhappiness
Consuming the energy
From below
Reflecting upon it
While the rain pours
Chilling the people
Through and through
Until they seek shelter
From the vicious storm
Enacting their feelings
Above

I'm climbing
Out of a blackhole
Where I've been stuck
For way too long
And as I look down
I see the darkness
And depression floods through me
Quickly causing me
To look above
At the clear blue sky
Joy seeps through
Every bone in my bod
It gives me the strength
To keep on climbing
Reaching the blue sky
Where the blackhole
Will never overcome me again
And I'll have the strength
To live
With or without
Someone by my side
Because I'm climbing
Out of the darkness
On my own
And I can do it
I can
And I will
Because I have the strength
