Once upon a time...

by

Vinnikov Vladimir

The warrior from distant lands
Came across the kingdom old.
And there was a girl he met
Of beauty that untold.

He didn't wish to buy the girl
For power, gems and gold.
He offered loyalties to her,
But she remained so cold.

And soon the warrior has gone,
He left the kingdom nice
And cursed all battles that he won,
Then vanished in darkness and ice.

The girl but lately understood
The price of gift she lost.
In very darkness long she stood
Engulfed by inner frost.

She stood and cried for paladin.
But there was no sight.
The only answer was a wind
So silent in the night.
