Why?

by

Linda Kay Ulik

Through darkening skies,
I ask God, "Why?"
My soul ripped in two,
the pain level high.
No words to express,
The betrayel I feel.
Please tell me how,
Is this pain real?
My heart sobbing loudly,
my emotions feel raw.
A tearing of my being,
forced circumstances control.
My thoughts twirling around me,
like sand in a storm.
Rain pouring in me,
I can't seem to stay warm.
Invisible arms are around me
embracing me with love.
God answers, "I'm with you"
Keep your eyes looking above.

A Dream

by

Linda Kay Ulik

I dream of a day,
when I can run free.
Out of the tangle of thorns,
that have captured me.

I'll run with the wind,
in lands I don't know.
and walk in the fields,
see the beauty as I go.

No one will hurt me,
my life will be mine.
I will be selfish,
as I finish my time.

My time on this earth
is for lessons unseen.
I live them, I learn them,
as God watches over me.

One day as I finish,
when my calling is done,
I'll go back to God
and with Him be one.

A Girl

by

Linda Kay Ulik

She sat among the floral blooms,
a girl with hopes and fears.
She shed a tear for life unknown,
and said a little prayer.
A prayer to guide her every step,
through life upon this road.
Along the full and empty times,
for Him to share the load.
Emotions come and feelings go,
It changes every day.
She never knows just what to do,
She asks God to show the way.
The Lord is here, He never leaves.
He holds her hand so dear.
He tells her just to trust in Him,
He always will be near.

Hope

by

Linda Kay Ulik

My heart, open and trusting,
My soul, loving and giving,
Trying hard to see through cloudy skies.
Turning to the true source of Love,
The Spirit within,
The clouds break and the Son appears.
The gentle golden thread,
That leads me to Heaven.

Life Blood

by

Linda Kay Ulik

Names without faces,
from long ago.
Live in my being,
A part of my soul.
Their lives keep on flowing,
to me from above.
And all others who follow,
in infinite love.
Their prayers have empowered,
my life force today.
Through trials and temptations,
They've shown me the way.
My eyes shine their beauty,
Their blood flows in mine.
I walk in their footsteps,
Their legacy in time.

I Know

by

Linda Kay Ulik

If I could tell you how much I care,
to share my thoughts and dreams.
The sky would open to heavenly light,
all eternity would be seen.

It goes far beyond this earthly life,
it stretches far as forever.
In our home that's with God is where it began,
it will continue when this journey is over.

I knew in your eyes I saw a friend,
a connection that is not explained.
Our words can not say what the soul can tell,
limited not to what we think real.

Unintangible love, is always there,
not confined to the time of this earth.
When we go to the Father and see the truth,
Everything will become clear.

Remember me as we travel this road,
even if you don't see me again.
And know that I'll wait on the other side,
To reunite with you my friend.

To Esther

by

Linda Kay Ulik

Fly high with the angels in Heaven above,
a wonderous place of unending love.
To be with the Father, embraced by His light,
A warmth, a comfort, released from the night.
Love will enfold you, your suffering is gone.
Your life with pain over, your battle is won.
With Jesus our Lord, who walked on this land,
In human form for us He did stand.
He took our sins to the cross that day,
And assured us a place in Heaven to stay.
We'll see you again, when it's our turn to come,
reuniting our friendships in our Heavenly home.
