The Perfect Night

As the sun sets, darkness falls, and the light flickers through your hair
A shadow is cast, but a light befalls you, as if an angel is standing there
The leaves rustle as a cool wind blows, and the day turns to night
The moon shines down upon us, making this, such a pretty sight
The stars are beaming in the sky, as if they are marking our destiny
The glowing light upon your face, radiates your everlasting beauty
As I am standing here in your presence, the cool winds turn to warmth
As now more than ever, I can feel your friendship and love in my heart
Looking out across the lands, the mountains stand high like natural towers
The oceanic waves crash down, with such awesome unmatched power
Shadows begin to move, as from day to night seems a whole new world
A wolf howls in the distance, as the nightlife intensely begins to stir
Shooting stars streak across the sky, illuminating the immense heavens
Times like this I turn to you, and your smile causes my heart to soften
As I hold you close, we peer at God’s beauty on land and deep into the sky
This evening with you, with beauty and brilliance, is the perfect night.
