Love of my heart

by

Johnny Transit

All subtlety is gone
my mind is made up
did I rip your dream
you’ve been foolin with me

I took it all to hard
so you say
make it up
as you go along

your all out of time
don’t take anymore
I know you think its crazy
but its all in fun
love of my heart
Im loading my gun

theres a crib that holds your mind
did I step on a piece
believe me when I say
none of it matters

see what you get
see what I get
see what we get
for falling in love

mirror mirror
ball and chain
flat line loves
still raising cain
hocus pocus in a trance
can I ask you for a dance

All subtlety is gone
my mind is made up
believe in me
none of it matters

longnecks and short skirts

by

Johnny Transit

Everybody says
I’m born of juice
but I’m all run dry
I think I just slipped from the noose
hanging in your eyes
not gonna waste another moment
I don’t have time
you’ll pay me for those back dues
momma I don’t mind
I’m gonna rip em up

They talk me up like a superhero
until I’m blind
I stand before you like Ceasar and Nero
baby I can fly

Cause we got longnecks
and they got shortskirts
we got longnecks
they don’t mind to take it off
we got longnecks
and they got shortskirts
we got longnecks
longnecks

I’ve been building a superhighway
in my mind
I’ll be going out with the know it alls
in my time
I’m going out with my old buddy .45
I keep mixing booze with him every night
I think I’ll go for it all

starbox

by

Johnny Transit

I’m gonna slip away
where there’s no rats timing me
I’m gonna get away
and turn my mind to steel.
you’ll never break the chains
I wrapped around my starbox

it’s were I get away
to find what’s real

it’s a pocket of dreams
its never what it seems
and its locked inside my starbox

I’m gonna watch the world
till it moves too fast for me.
and then I'll shut it down
whenever I can be
in my starbox
you’ll be there for me
as I slip inside my starbox

They say we fly too fast
the white flash disentegrated
into the time that passed
I found it all so unrelated

till I fell down from the rocks
into my starbox.

Allen Iverson

by

Johnny Transit

Allen Iverson
you beat the heat you won
you got some mean cornrows
just like Latrell Spreewell

you grew in I don’t know
some street in some ghetto
your only six feet tall
that’s short for basketball

you might be number three
or six or five or ten I don’t know
your Allen Iverson
you beat the Heat
you won

smoke weed on the Walt Whitman
got arrested kind of dumb
why do you braid your hair?
you steal balls you don’t care

I saw you in the F U center
do you play guard or center?
you might be a forward also
do you wear nikey shoes yo?

you might be number three or six
or five or ten
I don’t know

your Allen Iverson
you beat the heat
you won

wal-mart

by

Johnny Transit

heading out to the walmart store
I got to get some stuff
I go there everyday
I just cant get enough

I see you standing there
as I walk through the door
I put your name on my list
so you better beware

you see it’s a star show
it feeds all the dogs
and people pile in cars
to shop around for awhile

and as I stand there
Ive seen it all before
standing in the mirror section
I keep looking some more

at the walmart store
it’s a star show
and everyone around
they truly know
you can get anything you want
some that you’ve never seen
every aisle is packed with stuff
come on down with me

we love the walmart
for what it truly is
the starshow of the century
it feeds all the kids

we love our walmart
we love our walmart store
its easy to see
it’s the star of the show
of the century

Pumkaroo

by

Johnny Transit

you cant get around
those inaudible sounds,
they’ll follow you whenever you play.
Your digging for something
but it’s deep in the ground,
so you sit, shake, rollover and stay.

I will swoop
I will swoop down
with my talons gleeming
I will rip them one by one
from the world

we were dropping like flies
but now it’s my time to shine
can I hold you
can I hold you once again?
can I give my world to you
as I drive to the city with my pumkaroo?

before all hell breaks loose
we gotta get out.
we won’t be caged up like apes in a zoo.
when the fur flies
as the crow has flown,
get out babe
and I’ll meet up with you.

who can say who is right or wrong
when life is hanging on a wire?
there is noone left to tell us what to do
your an angel on my shoulder,
everyday I must fight harder
it’s only you and me and pumkaroo.

Lincoln's Hat

by

Johnny Transit

I had a dream about the interstate
and two hundred million cars
heading out to Washington
along the break of day
I could see the headlights
from the top of Lincoln’s hat
as mt rushmore crumbled
at my feet below

I saw them sinking on through
I heard them saying that
there’s not much we can do

Somewhere out there
on the golden plains
is the unknown soldier’s tomb
where all the red white promises
have faded into blue

son you know that someday
you’ll be buried neath there too
and the risks you take
don’t leave you much too lose

That’s why I’m always
living it up today
so the weight I carry
will all dissolve away

Late in the evening
and the sun just fades away
I take off my working clothes
and wash this dirt away
but I know tommorow
they’ll be plenty more to do
bossman plays the money game
I write love songs to you

I just wanted to take some space here on my website to
thank some friends. Drew Blood, Evad Eagle, LK, Simon,
for their collaborations (dont know if I'm spelling that
right) on many of my works. I like to think the point
of any art form is "to get it out there" and that's all
I'm trying to do here on my webpage. Oh I forgot ...
I want to thank dreamagic . dot . com for so generously
offering me this space for free. True poets you are ....
