Time

by

Tracy Thorne

My heart is troubled and time a burden it seems
Still linger feather traces of his gentle caress
A warm salty mouth and tousled hair upon my breast
Beneath dusk’s silky lavender sky emotions spent
In the aftermath of our sweet entanglement
The sweeping of a smooth hand across my brow
Memories entwined in fading spring twilights now

Blanketed by summer’s stillness my prince is gone
For his whispered words and passionate embrace I long
Gray and somber early June mornings so too my mood
Suddenly surrounded by my thoughtful solitude
Come mid-summer sunsets my spirit lifted at last
The power of his presence a mystery of past
A fleeting image in the shadows of my dreams
