Death of a school mate

by

Stephen M. Subritzky

For Dean -

The times we had I remember them all,
from the wars on Mount Flint,
to humpty's old wall,
The sports we played,
too many to mention,
the fun we had,
that got us detention,
I can't say goodbye,
although it's the end,
I'll just say farewell,
till next time my friend,
now although we are apart,
I keep your memories,
right next to my heart.

War Dogs - Forgotten Heroes

by

Stephen M. Subritzky

They gave their lives for any good man,
the hero war dogs of Vietnam,
four legged heroes,
doing their tour,
the forgotten heroes of a forgotten war,
they stayed in that country,
abandoned,
alone,
because of the risk,
they couldn't come home.

And there's no monuments,
just a sad goodbye wave,
except in the hearts,
the heroes did save.
