Do I have to say the words?

by

Maria Subotovich

Do I have to say the words
When my soul suffers hard
When my heart is killed with swords
You sing a song as if a bard.
I am along in this small room
The candle sparkles in the night
Your pinks are dead and they donít bloom
My hair turned from blonde to white.
My solitude is very deep
I want to run and to escape
I see you but it is a sleep
Your voice says something on the tape.
You smile from photos on the wall
Your smile is so neat and warm
You are so handsome smart and tall
I enter my abandoned dorm.
I cry and crystal tears drop
You are a king among the lords
I love you and I cannot stop
And I donít have to say the words!

A boy with a violin

by

Maria Subotovich

I heard a tune that was quite neat
I jumped and ran into the yard
The summer was in age of heat
But then the rain was pouring hard.
Iíve never heard such a dainty sound
It could give vision to a blind
I searched for it and made a round
But fortune wasnít very kind.
Some time has passed but I was trying
To find the voice from paradise
From time to time the tune was dying
Just to be born and to arise.
Soon after that I saw a glade
A boy was sitting on the lawn
He played a tune that couldnít fade
It was as neat as a lambís horn.
The kid just looked at me and smiled
His fiddle gave a gentle tune
I listened, standing in the aisle
It happened in the month of June.

In the moonlight

by

Maria Subotovich

In the light of the moon
I was happy and joy
It was like a large spoon
It was time to enjoy.
Every night is a fable
Every star is a soul
I stood up from the table
And I had a fine goal.
The white snow was falling
The stars glistened at night
I heard somebody calling
And I turned to the right.
The weather was chilling
The voice wasnít rough
I had a sixth feeling
And I started to laugh.
I looked in the sky
And I felt something native
My eyes were not dry
And your wit was creative.

Crescent night dream

by

Maria Subotovich

I went asleep too late last night
The sky was dark and moon was faint
It was producing strange bleak light
And stars were drawn with silver paint.
My eyes were closed in the sleep
My heart was jumping as a ball
I wonder if my sleep was deep
I woke up from a strange call.
I was astonished by that sound
Then understood: a doorbell rang
I put my feet on that cold ground
And saw a figure of a man.
The man came closer to me
I was afraid and cried aloud
He lit a match to let me see
I understood what I had found.
I waited long for that short meeting
His eyes were warm and voice was calm
The small bright match was the best heating
Heíll never cause me any harm.

Dimensions

by

Maria Subotovich

I donít know why your fiddle cries
My wound is as vast as river
You leave me and something inside me dies
My body is killed with a fever.
My painís as huge as the top of the world
You smile and my soul glistens
You captured my heart in a small pretty fold
A starling stops singing, it listens.
I cry and small tears fall on the floor
I hear your voice and I shiver
You whispered ĎGoodbyeí and closed my door
My heart was defeated with fever.
You smile and all people are jumping around
I sparkle as diamond rings
You kiss me, my soul just flies from the ground
My back is accustomed to wings.
When life is a fable I smile and I run
But sufferings make me cry
Itís gorgeous to live in the rays of the sun
Itís crazy to ask me why.

Flashback

by

Maria Subotovich

This meeting was a real dream
For me it was a superb wonder
Your smile was shining as a beam
Neither cold rain nor a thunder.
My hands were warm and eyes were wet
Your eyes were kind and you were smiling
The day was sunny when we met
My brain boiled from that piling.
The landscape was as green as grass
The sky was blue with clouds running
You looked at me above your glass
That look was both neat and cunning.
Your jokes were a funny mass
Your voice for me was a nice fiddle
The water came along the pass
For me you didnít have a riddle.
My life is torched with sacred light
You are a beam in this black hole
I feel that your embrace is tight
You are an angel for my soul.

A crazy feeling

by

Maria Subotovich

When love is just a crazy feeling
And it may cause both laugh and cry
It means that it is nice but killing
And nobody can guess why.
For every aim you have to strive
Each goal makes you working hard
But love is warm when it arrives
And it helps you at every start.
We need to know that we love
It helps to live and to survive
Of course you should take off your glove
Honor the road that you drive.
Some people think that love is meek
If it is so I'm sorry
But when you love eight days a week
It is a very happy story.
No one can know further fate
But it is what makes life so crazy
I wish to live to that fine date
When I don't have to plead white daisy.

A drop of water

by

Maria Subotovich

The waves were dancing their dance
I walked along that stone beach
I knew I didnít have a chance
To find an aim I couldnít reach.
The waves were singing their song
I sat and listened to the wind
I knew that something happened wrong
My effort was a tiny hint.
The sea was waiting for a storm
I wished you were somewhere near
I felt your breath - it was so warm
But all at once this disappeared.
I sat and watched the coming storm
For me it was my soulís slaughter
My cheek felt something very warm
But it was just a drop of water.
The sea was roaring like from pain
I stood and murmured my short pray
I live for you, your life is main
Perhaps, Iíll meet you on my way.

A Christmas fable

by

Maria Subotovich

The snow fell, the sun was shining
The nature slept under a warm rug
But snowfall was not defining
You need fresh air in a fug.
The yard was white but trees were mum
The kids were playing snowballs
I didnít want to bring you harm
I need fresh air not these walls.
The day was short but night was long
I fired a candle in a sconce
I knew that no one was wrong
But nothing could be changed in nonce.
A lantern glimmered in the night
Its glow was too dim and bleak
It was a gentle, calming light
I wanted to be small and weak.
I didnít guess that you were near
Sometimes I looked at a wall-clock
I thought that I would die from fear
When suddenly I heard a knock.

Departure

by

Maria Subotovich

I want to know what you think
What thoughts you bare in your mind
You went away and left a pink
It's difficult but love is blind.
I cried and tears were small drops
My heart was bleeding really hard
I searched and found tiny chops
Those pieces that were in my heart.
It doesn't mean that you are cruel
But something cries there inside
Our feeling was a sort of duel
You've won it and my wound is wide.
You were so calm and I was proud
We shaked our hands and said "Goodbye!'
Your heart made not a single sound
But mine announced a sharp cry.
That love was rather strange but nice
You wanted to receive and get
Your words were like a paradise
It is the thing I won't forget.

All for love

by

Maria Subotovich

On a day when tulips bloom
When birds fly above
Thereís neither ache nor gloom
It is all for love.
At the time when people smile
And all creatures sing
Cast all trifles in a pile
And join their ring.
When your heart is beating fast
Take it as a gift
If itís love it will be vast
Neither long nor swift.
If your world has changed a lot
Itís a fortuneís prize
You will always find your slot
Just remain wise.
Years pass and time is cruel
Donít project your glove
Itís not for you to win this duel
Leave all strength for love.

Distant star

by

Maria Subotovich

You are distant and far
But I love you and miss
You are my distant star
I donít care for this.
When I wake in the night
I see you standing near
In the rays of the light
You protect me from fear.
You are handsome and smart
You are gentle and kind
Every end had a start
But my heart doesnít mind.
When my life is a hell
You are my loyal friend
But when troubles end well
I regret of that end.
You are somewhere far
In the raj of the sand
When I got off your car
You just shook my neat hand.

Think twice

by

Maria Subotovich

If you love and your heart gives a noise
It is gorgeous and nice
But youíre blind and a strange inside voice
Wants you to think twice.
All you do is a will of your heart
Itís a small paradise
Donít forget that you are torn apart
Donít forget to think twice.
You ignore all the things in this world
Donít elude my advice
Your fiends are powerful and bold
You should think twice.
All things you seek for will be found
Donít play in dice
When you have problems look around
And, please, think twice.
This world is filled with vivid tints
You must remain wise
I donít make any tricky hints
Be careful! Think twice!

The Truth

by

Maria Subotovich

My heart beats too fast
And soul is bleeding
My love is so vast
Itís truth, no kidding.
I canít sleep at night
You are my sweet sin
Itís useless to fight
And Iíll never win.
Nobody can help
And I sink somewhere
I cry and I yelp
But people donít hear.
I turn off the light
But your face is smiling
Your eyes are so bright
For me itís defining.
Relax and forgive
It isnít your fault
I want to believe
That itís not a halt.
My love will survive
ĎCause feelings donít die
My aim is to strive
Itís truth, I donít lie!

Snow

by

Maria Subotovich

When I entered my small yard
I discovered a very strange hint
It was painful and too hard
To imagine that it was your dint.
I donít want to believe my eyes
Snow falls and the dints bleak
But my soul is wounded, it cries
And the snow is starting to leak.
It is melting and water streams
All my body is chivied and wet
I smile when remember my dreams
And the time when we met.
I feel that we will be apart
I cry but stay static and still
Every end had a wonderful start
And Iíll pay that tremendous bill.
I adore you but I hate your lie
I try to forgive and forget
My eyes will become cold and dry
But my soul will always regret.
