Are thay Elephants in Kansas

by

Alvin Stepp Jr.

Her hand prints decorate my walls,
Her laughter echos thru the halls.
Her smile is stretched a mile long,
Her love is told in every song.
She has one real love in life today,
She has a Elephant on her blanket to play.
She sleeps with her Elephant every nite,
She feels no pain with her Elephant in sight.
I would play as her Elephant in real life,
I would hold her with my trunk with strive.
I would watch her as she slept,
I would fear her tomorrow as I wept.
Now she is gone with her Mother on a bus,
Now my heart is filled with tears ready to bust.
Now all I have is her hand print on my walls,
Now it is silent for she echos not in my halls.
So now I must keep in my mind of what was,
So now I ask you,,are thay Elephants in Kansas?
"Good Nite Jenny,,I Love You."
