Sleep comes like gentle waves upon
a moonlit shore.
Awash with drifting shadows
and tastes of saltiness.
Echoes of laughter and smiles sweet
caress the senses
as visions of meadows full of
flowers and sweet gale
ease the stress filled mind.
Lay back amongst the pillows and
feel anew the warmth of noonday sun,
when eyes are dazzled with crinkles
of light in endless days of summer.
Smell the cooling scents of rosemary and
lavender, remembering days spent
along a mountain's wooded streams
and touch again the river washed pebbles
smooth and cool against your palm.
Sleep comes with gentle words written
from a friendly heart and calming health
returns while stars and comets turn
and move against the heavens.
