I'm Your Dad

by

George Louis Amaya Sr.

Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes it’s not
To go through each day, and put up with a lot
When your brother or sister just won’t get along
I know you feel everything is just going wrong

Don’t let small things get to you so much
Take time, be patient, don’t be in a rush
Try not to let everything bother you
Don’t lose control, don't lose your faith too

I’m always here through your times of stress
When everything seems like a real big mess
With a kiss and a hug to show you I care
I’ll help you feel better by just being there

If fairytales, fantasies, and dreams came true
Imagine the many things we could both do
I’d turn into a genie and grant you your wish
That maybe someday, we would be very rich

But we have each other and that’s a good start
And you have your future plus you’re very smart
What ever life brings us, we’ll face to the end
What ever can tear us, we both can mend

The years behind me were difficult ones
But I never ran out on my daughters and sons
Forgive me for losing the Mom you once had
But I’ll be here for you because, I’m your Dad

think

Think of all the people in the world with your same name.
Did you think you were the only one with such a powerful game.
What if you shared the same thoughts and strife.
Think if you all got together would you show the same stripes.
Would you like to know more about all these "Georges'"
Or would you stop and think?
