There are words that wound
And words that heal
The power is in us all
But the greatest words you will ever hear
Are echoed from the soul.
These words denote the power of love
That often changes man
To make the world a better place
For us to start again.
So men of faith take heed to this
Though many do not care
Just freely give the love you have
We need the healing here.
Om Shanti I Am A Peaceful Soul
When the mind is truelly focused
And the thoughts contained therein
The intellect will sift the chaff
And blow it to the wind.
When emotion clouds all reasoning
And it`s hard to broach the storm
Just give in to the mighty force
That is born of inward calm.
Let the peace you feel take over
Quieten discord feel content
Never letting troubles trouble you,
Never letting anger vent.
For to find that certain countenance
Should be every persons goal
To meet each moment with the hope
Of a quiet and peaceful soul.
The eyes upwards gaze past Pine and Forest
To the highness of the Fells,
Discover glory in majestic peaks.
To think our feet stood on this upmost point.
Here where elation greets tired and aching bones
All pain feels less, strain and discomfort gone
Blisters vanish forgetting the upward climb.
Here on this slated ridge is history.
How many feet trod this route before?
How many eyes feasted on this glorious view?
Today, only the hardy Herdwick Sheep
Greets us with a cautious admiration.
This sure footed Sheep suffers not bandaids,
Nor has swollen toes for friends,
Only us the intruders into his world,
Can share the beauty of this misty day.
Where Summer gives a pretty dress
Autumn gives a crown
Of golden leaves throughout the trees
And plants upon the ground
She changes color rapidly
And as if all were amiss
She strips them bare and leaves them be
As fickle as a kiss
Her colour gives a bountiful
And beautiful array
The sun is red on golden corn
That is harvested by day.
No other season of the year
Could show so much in yellow
A variation of a theme
And one that proves so mellow.
By Just One Thought
If each person in the world
Thought just for a moment.
If each person in the world
Changed a little because of that thought
Then what a better world it could be.
If just in a small quiet moment
A conscience sparked by that thought
Echoed throughout each land,
The New Year would bring fresh jope
And promise for a better tomorrow.
If by one point of light
Because of that thought shone in the dark,
It would grow and become a beacon.
A light that could shine through our world`s pain.
With such a light no darkness could exist.
If by a thought hands joined,
Each hand held a candle.
Each candle became a beacon.
A promise of hope, a future
A dream became a reality,
Then pain and suffering would be gone
And by this thought all would be achieved.
Goodbye Dear Friend
Goodbye dear friend we shall meet again
In the byways of life
Perhaps in another place,in another time
Where recognition of this life,
Leaves the memories of the present
And a future in another dimension greets the day.
A broader life of deeper highways
Higher knowledge and greater understanding of the soul
Perhaps then we`ll understand why?
Why we`ve suffered, why we`ve often cried
Why we`ve been given experience
Only to lose the remembrances of today.
Then it will all seem worthwhile
Because of what we shall become.
I Know A Girl
I know a girl who says she hugged a tree
And I thought how could this silly be?
because a tree is so much like a friend
Who gives her leafy shade to lend.
To animals and birds she gives a home
From tempest winds, the rain and falling snow
And though the sun heats the land beneath,
We shelter neath her bonnet for relief.
She stands so proud, majestic, tall and true,
A feast of majesty for the eyes to view.
A Poet said only God could make a tree,
And to this thought I heartily agree.
The First Christmas
As we greet this time of year
All Christians gather far and near.
Remembering one small holy child
Who was by nature meek and mild.
Laid in a manger, lowly birth
He would one day redeem the earth.
When Jesus grew into a man,
He would fulfill his father`s plan.
Upon the cross in Calvery,
He gave his life for you and me.
But, Mary holds his hand tonight
Surrounded by a heavenly light.
Joseph, Shepherd`s and Wise Men,
Adorn the scene in Bethlehem.
The Angel`s heavenly trumpet sounds
Peace, love and joy to all abounds.
A Christmas play for all mankind
New faith, God`s gift, for us to find.
Lead me, lead me, gently lead me
With the heart of your desire
Fill me, fill me, greatly fill me
With your molten tongues of fire.
Show me, show me how to know you
Whe I stray just hold me tight.
Make my stumbling efforts find you
Illuminate my darkest night.
Give me all the peace I`m seeking,
The world gives me a troubled soul.
Take my sin and always love me
For you love can make me whole.
Remember me when I have gone from you,
But know that I have gone reluctantly
And fought, with every fibre of my being,
To stay with you, Life claims us all,
But, our hearts go on remembering.
I will come to you in another form,
In life, in death, nothing separates
Those who love, love remains and memory,
To cause a tear, to bring the smiles,
A thought that says I love you.
There are Angels that we meet
When all around`s defeat
When at the end of hope
When we find it hard to cope
God sends a loving soul
Who will pray and make us whole.
Whe crushed and in despair
When we think there`s none who care
Then you suddenly will find
The person who is kind.
God gives and shows in ways
That brighten blackest days
A love that knows no bounds
By the Angel you have found.
A blush of red lies at your throat
Adorns the drabness of your coat.
In song you stand at heaven`s door
In warbled songs that you implore
How can a hardened heart remain
Without a falling tear to claim?
Through weathers good or bad you sing
Remind the listener of spring.
Perhaps to give a faith of kind
That summer is not far behind.
So sing my little feathered friend
Hope and joy in song you lend
Faith and trust that come what may
There will always be a brighter day.
Thoughts From The Heart
My heart is in the pen I hold.
When feelings flow and thoughts unfold,
It`s then the ink flows swift and true,
To find those words to write anew.
Each piece is born from migrant thoughts,
For deep within ideas are caught,
And netted fora moments time,
To bring the piece and form the rhyme.
