New Creation

by

Barbara Lynn Sowell

As i spread my wings to fly
I stop and ask the reason why
For when at birth a lowly worm
How can i be a butterfly
It's a little like salvation
I'm guessing that it must be
For when i bow upon my knee
I too am a new creation

Christ

by

Barbara Lynn Sowell

Caring and gracious
Hallowed and humble
Rich in blessings
Is my lord Jesus
Solid and strong is
The Almighty

Jesus

by

Barbara Lynn Sowell

Joy is the tender
Embracing of our hearts;
So done by the Lamb,uniting
Us with our Father,through his
Son,Christ our lord.

the dance

by

Barbara Lynn Sowell

put in the potion
a dose rhythm and motion
out comes a poem
with lyrical instruction
of symphonic proportion
~~~
what more can i ask
extraordinary task
music to my ears
in her sweet glory i bask
for i know it will not last
All I Need
by
Barbara Lynn Sowell
Pondering the depth of poetry,
i find that my words are weak.
Living life as a simple man,
no higher learning do i reap.
~~~
Colleges and universities,
not one door have i darkened.
My knowledge of everything
has been by ear as harkened.
~~~
But though i lack the niceties
that higher learning gives me,
i find the joy that life gives,
inspite of my illiteracy.
~~~
A happy man as ever will be,
i do not need your training.
All i need is GODS'green earth
which i find so entertaining.

free?

by

Barbara Lynn Sowell

we call ourselves free
though we live under man's rules
but what is freedom
if we cannot trully be
as the birds that fly above
