Mother

by

Geraldine Solon

You heard my first cry
And watched my first step
While you rocked me to sleep
You embraced all my fears

As you serenaded the songs of joy
You planted the magic of love
And gave me the birth of hope
Then walked me through the Alphabet of Life.

My mother, the most beautiful woman I know. You are my friend and confidante.

Father

by

Geraldine Solon

As we played the ball of love
You carved wisdom in my soul
You had a shoulder I could lean upon
With a strength that made me carry on

You always had the answers to why and how
And never failed to give me what I am now
My Father, My Idol, My Tree of Life
One I look up to with victory and strife

To my husband

by

Geraldine Solon

I wonder if

There would be no water to rescue the fire
Or no darkness to shelter the sunlight
Or no death to seize life
But I hate to wonder how life would be without you.

To my son

by

Geraldine Solon

As I bare my sweet bosom
Beads of roses flow into my soul
Oh little one!
You enchant me

As I hold you close to thee
I smell the waves waiting to unfold
Oh precious one!
You captivate me

As little as you are
You are my precious star
So gentle, so sweet so sublime
My dear child of mine

Oh little one!
My dear son!
Each day is a dream come true
For I have a wonderful son like you

Poetry Competition

To my daughter

by

Geraldine Solon

You are the little girl I once was
With wonderful dreams ahead of you
And the youth I savor too

You are the beautiful lady
I strongly care and love
A tight bond is what we have

My dearest daughter
I want you to know
You mean so much to me

I will always be there
In your joys and despair
I am your Mother and friend
