The Blooming Flower

by

Deborah Silverthorne

I'm going to plant the seed of a flower
It's being planted in my garden tower.
I planted the flower in a pot of dirt.
The water I poured got on my brand new shirt.
I looked at the seed and hoped a flower would grow
Though it might not grow for it is time for snow.

The flower was beginning to bloom one day
The stem was starting to sprout that part of May.
Two of it's leaves started to sprout after that
The plant was beginning to look like a cat.
Soon after that the bud had begun to sprout.
Now I see what having patience is about.

The pretty flower an astonishing sight.
My room is more beautiful both day and night.
The flower is a bright bluish-green color.
I think I want to plant one for my mother.
The bluish-green flower is really big now
This most beautiful flower should take a bow!
