Nowhere near here

by

Julia Robson

We'd be living in fear,
Someplace, nowhere near here.
We would be the hunted,
we would be the prey,
we would never see the sun come up each day.
We would hear cries from Childeren being taken away
and the whole town would be silent as they knelt by their beds and prayed.
No animals could be seen,
not a bark floating around,
the whole town would be silent no one dared to make a sound.
The food was none and the water from the drain,
They couldn't drink from God as it was only acid rain.
Holidays were never heard of as every day was work,
Pushing things into little places,
continuing if hurt.
We'd be living in fear,
someplace, nowhere near here.
