Poet Libra

by

Dale R Poll

There is nothing so vain,
As a Libra,
And nothing so beautiful,
Either,

Let's see if you agree.
I am as perfect,
As perfect can be.

I am sweet, and attentive,
And wonderful,
Too.

I'm tall, but not too,
and beautiful too,
I even have, eyes of blue.

They're like the sky,
And the color of sapphire,
Would I lie?
I'm so perfect, I cannot tell a lie.

A Tree?

by

Dale R Poll

When Kilmer said, "I think that I shall never see,
A poem lovely as a tree,"
He'd never read Dale's poetry.

However you look at all of these,
Blue, and yellow, pink and clean,
A tree will never have all of these.

"Only God can make a tree.",
Who do you think inspires poetry?
And what means this name, Tiffany?

A tree cannot walk, A tree cannot dance,
A tree cannot flow, or be graceful.
Have you met Tiffany, per chance?

So if you want to see poetry,
As lovely as any tree,
You must read Dale's, "Tiffany"

Homeless

by

Dale R Poll

Homeless, not more,
Not a phrase,
That we adore,

Whether we are, "Home less,"
Or whether we are,
"Homeless."

I am homeless, and I'm not bragging,
I did not choose to be this way.
I hope you never have to sing,
"Please help me, because I'm homess."

I don't blame anyone but myself,
For foolish decisions,
Made my myself.

So, don't feel sorry,
For me,
I just hope you're,
Smarter than me.

If you're close to being there,
Try to hang on, to what you've got,
It's easier than trying to recover,
Everything, that you've lost

Gems of Love

by

Dale R Poll

From Peridot to Diamonds,
And Amethesyst to Pearl,
One for every boy and girl,

I have been so fortunate,
Of late, and so overcome,
I must really sedate.

I am a Sapphire,
Not on fire,
With love.

I can not help,
My Charisma,
Or sensual magnetism.

And I cannot be blamed,
for my appearance, or beauty,
Or even my Beautiful eyes,
I was born with them!

So please do forgive me,
If I seem to be vain,
It's only me, showing me.
And perhaps, a little ego too.

Tiffany

by

Dale R Poll

I have a friend named Tiffany, she is the greatest friend,
For definition of Tiffany, Please, pray tell, attend.
She is so wonderful, because she does forgive,
My worst mistakes, I've ever done, to anyone.
If I could take them back and my life relive,
I'd give my life for Tiffany, more than anyone.

She called me, "Dad" because she loved me,
And I was so proud she let me be her father.
I love her so, because she's kind to me,
And because she let me call her, "Daughter."
No matter what the cost to me, I'll love her all my life,
And cherish her every breath, to me she is my life.

The Little Tree

by

Dale R Poll

I discovered a little tree,
Outside of the window,
That used to belong to Tiffany,

I asked every one that I could find,
"What kind of tree is this?"
Finally my quest brought reward,

When an expert of trees,
or student of botany,
answered me,

"This kind sir, is a sugar tree,
Also called Sugar Maple tree,"
That's what he said, to me.

I had to smile,
Though it had been awhile,
Since my Tiffany left me.

You must see by now,
I love her very much,
I just can't help somehow,
Missing her very much.

Tiffany had called me, "Dad,"
And when she left,
I felt really bad,

But now I have that little tree,
Growing outside of her window,
To remind me of our lovely time,
For now, I don't feel so low.
