Summer Gone

by

Little Pink Pixie

The faeries touched lips
with the butter cups.
And the soft evening air
reminded me of you.
The sun grew dark
and colder than before.
The sparkling dust settled
on the stillnes in me.
And the flickering night
opened up its eyes
and blinked away the light.
Hushing the buzz of the day.

And I waited for you...
but you never came.

The moon blew kisses
at the shapeless earth below.
Amd I found myself falling
into the lulling arms of the night.
I imagined your kisses
soft on my skin,
but it was just the touch
of the winter air.
Not your fingers
but the grass damp beneath.
Not what I wished for
but the retreat of the day,
or the hum of fireflies,
or the goodbyes of faeries.

Flirting with Tomorrow

by

Little Pink Pixie

The ice catches me unawares;
a thousand frozen tears.
Shed by a million lost todays
over a million years.
I catch a blinking eyelid,
and it catches onto me.
Before my fall into nothing
protects the things I can not see.

I'm only flirting with Tomorrow,
it's all I have to give.
A glance over my shoulder
a final kiss goodbye,
And the hope I'll always live.

I hear the weeping ringing,
Of the faries long forgot.
Reach back my hand to touch them
but my fingers remember not.

I'm only flirting with Tomorrow,
it's all I have to give.
But I brush it from my shoulder
In the dream I'm always here,
And the hope I'll always live,

... to see yesterday again.

Crescent Moon

by

Little Pink Pixie

I am the fading Angel
from your dreams.
I am the shadow ebbing
from your sense.

So I stand before the alter of the dawn.
Release this final passing of the storm.
You say goodnight.

I am the only thing
that gives you hope.
I am the silent passing
of your loss.

So I stand before the judgement of your heart.
The stars within your eyes upon my chart.
You say goodnight.

I am the falling
of the crescent moon.
I am this tumbling
shimmering cascade.

So I let you take up refuge in my arms.
Simply a slave beneath your breaking charms.
I say goodnight.

Stargazer

by

Little Pink Pixie

Come rest ye in mine elfin grott
where silences will reach ye not
come light this place and in mine face
see beauty time could never blot

For now these eyes shine but for you
and faery voice sings perfect truth
come light this place and in mine face
see distances for ye I flew

So lay ye down and ease your mind
feel my kisses, caresses kind
come light this place and in mine face
see all that only you could find

I spread these wings and fly away
to say farewell to one more day
you light this place and in my face
see at your side I'll always stay

While She Slept

by

Little Pink Pixie

She opened up her eyes
and saw her world
packed tightly into boxes,
tied with GreenPeace ribbons,
stamped with Save The Whales stamps.

She saw the blood upon her hands,
which she would never wash away.
Dried brown with age.
She saw the flesh beneath her nails,
stained her skin with time.

She compared herself to you.
And you loved every moment.
She cried out a river of pale salt tears.
For what she missed
while she slept.

And I wonder
how I can help her

escape.
