I try to be a best friend,
I try so very hard,
Even though I sometimes succeed,
I feel my life has been scarred.

The only thing I can think of to do,
is pray and wait fot things to work out.
"The Lord will help me," my mind tells me,
though my body says "run away."

But I have to keep hopes high,
and wait for what He has planned.
And when this time comes,
for me to stand up,
I will become a best friend again.
