Heaven Bound

by

Laura Lynn Petersen

Slipping the earthly bounds,
I danced with laughter on wings.
Towards the sky,
upward I climbed,
and joined the swirling stars.
Sunlit clouds I fly,
not dreamed of ever.
Swirl and soar,
high in the sunlit sky.
Here and there,
I climbed the wind.
Eager I fly on broken wings,
through the swirl and delirious still.
I sweep the wind-swept sky,
high with easy grace.
Where no birds or eagle soar,
with silent awe,
I surpass the blue sky.
Put out my hand in silent space,
and touch the face of God!

Starlight Angels

by

Laura Lynn Petersen

Starlight angels,
explode across the sky.
Lustrous in candescent light,
surrounds each and every one.
Angels slowly unravel,
moving and merging into one.
Constant as the stars,
ruling the midnight sky.
Constant like the sun in the heavens,
they bring warmth and love.
Bring light out of darkness,
and guide us through life's ups and downs.
Guiding all our ways,
and all our hearts.
Radiant angels,
light refracting here and there.

Night Angels!

by

Laura Lynn Petersen

When I gaze upon the midnight sky,
it's angels that I see.
Flying against a velvet cape,
of night's starry calm,
they scatter endlessly.
Angels stream by midnight breeze,
are held by the moon's pale shine.
They dispel every darkness,
and pull the sunbeams in.
When I see Twilight's marvel,
and perceive what God has wrought.
I know his angels are finer,
more precious by far,
night's jewels,
than I ever thought.

Grandma's Quilt

by

Laura Lynn Petersen

After many years of being silent,
keeping her stuff tucked away.
Locked in a pink box,
are Grandma's tiny treasures.
Of love hidden away,
memories stored of yesterday.
Her tattered family Bible,
silk flowers pressed inside.
She gave us her love and strength,
to endure life's difficult plight.
Through struggles and hardships,
she was there day and night!
Many years of her love,
tender feelings held inside.
Not only was she my Grandma,
my friend and confident as well!
Now in heaven she resides,
flying on wings of gold,
helping all those around!
