The Rainbow's Prison

by

Pamela Rose Penrod

Tears and pain abundant, so much sorrow,
endless todays with no hope for tomorrow.
People shake and quake in total fear,
each time one passes or simply comes near.
The world goes on, full of plans and construction,
amidst such pain and mass destruction.

Once strong and proud, world turned upside down,
each adorning a simple hospital gown.
Leper colonies lost in days of old,
history repeats or so I've been told.

Together they cling in support of each other,
each one so close, supporting his brother.
Hope for the future and all that it seems,
Lost now and forever except in their dreams.

Hospital monitors, chests heaving in Rhythm,
Each now lost in the Rainbow's Prism.

Hearts silently beg for one simple touch,
We cant infect that way, is it asking too much?
Agony and strife, overwhelming pain,
Doctors and medicine all fighting the game.
Life's promise to all has passed and died,
regardless what's said, they've been set aside.

Mother's and father's lay weeping, words not spoken,
life styles chosen, many hearts broken.
Life comes and goes in it's steady rhythm,
life now lost in the Rainbow's Prism.

The people are special, why can't you see,
they made mistakes, just like you and me.
Colors so beautiful in the Rainbow's Prism,
clad in disguise and deceit, tis a crystal prison.
Don't travel it's way or into the lair,
seek refuge in God through daily prayer.

Let us not smite or hold a grudge,
Only God can be the judge.
Pain and misery beyond all reason,
life will pass to another season.
Give them love and stress the hope,
share the courage to once again cope.

Sealed With A Kiss

by

Pamela Rose Penrod

Written in love and sealed with a kiss,
I love the one now reading this!
Of all the men I ever met,
you're the one I won't forget.

You're love worth more than wealth or gold,
what the furture holds, will soon be told.
predestined future of glory and delights,
together we'll explore all that hides in the nights.

To once again be encassed in your arms,
all will be right, away from life's harms.
remember the night when we danced so close,
you held me soft, I loved you the most.

I saw in your eyes such love reflected there,
I love you today, tomorrow, always, this I do swear.
It wont be easy to win back what I tossed away,
but I will try forever and then even a day.

Your love so precious and rare, such a great find,
without it in life, I will loose my mind.
He who wrote, "Is better to loved and lost than never loved at all",
never heard my heart or the feelings inside when I hear your call.

When I pick up the phone and hear your voice when it rings,
My day turns to magic and my heart gladdens as it sings.
Written in love and sealed with a kiss,
I love the one now reading this!

Deep In The Forrest

by

Pamela Rose Penrod

Caught within the majesty
With sight to conquer dreams,
Walking in the shadows
Of spirits who have gleaned.

Love from all this nature
Gathered in our sight,
Soft and dawning presence
Shining with great light.

Hear the gentle raindrops
Dancing in the trees,
Water beads upon them
Quenching all the leaves.

Loam of earth arises
Our senses now will rise,
Bringing greater splendor
Nature's heart now sighs.

Sounds of love so gentle
Filled with hearts so kind,
Love and inspiration
The forest shall remind.

Echoes of the ages
Will always be so near,
Seen with all the splendor
With shadows we revere.

Always In My Heart

by

Pamela Rose Penrod

Sitting in silence, I think and I wonder...
Seeing nothing at all, my mind starts to wander.
I had you, you loved me, you use to be mine...
So tender, so caring, all loving, and kind.

You gave me your heart, seeking nothing in return...
Always trusting, sharing, oh why can't I learn?
Having known such love, I can never forget...
I'll treasure each moment with not one regret.

I reach deep inside searching for reasons.
These feelings are turbulent...unrelenting legions.
I can't find the answers, I sit mourning through the night.
Why was I so foolish...why did I take flight?

What was I doing...or trying to find?
All I ever wanted, I had, when you were mine.
I said no regrets...rethinking....I lied,
I do have one...you're not by my side.

I had you, you loved me, ohhhhh so precious a gift...
I'll think of you often as I walk through this life.
I let you slip away...and now we're apart,
but I will carry you with me always...deep in my heart.
