A Snowflake

by

Meghan Peck

A crisp snowflake falls onto my nose,
My tongue trys to lick it,
But it is too high,
I run inside for a spoon,
But it is too late,
My snowflake has melted,
So I take the spoon outside,
And catch many snowflakes,
Oh how tasty they are.

Star

by

Meghan Peck

Star why do you shine so bright,
Are you happy,
Are you sad,
Are you a ball of fire,
Star you truly puzzle me,
Why do you shine so bright,
Please tell me so,
Star why do you shine so bright,
Do you have an idea,
Or are you smart,
Star you truly puzzle me.

The Secret of Life

by

Meghan Peck

Two words say it all,
Love and trust,
Love brings happiness,
Trust brings love,
Take love with you,
Show it to others,
Be trustful to others,
And they will be trustful to you,
For life isn't just a game of Ping-Pong,
You win or lose in a game,
And get a few chances,
But in life,
You get one chance,
One lifetime to make a difference,
One chance to show you care,
One chance to show love to others,
And one chance to be trustful.

Silver Ice

A circle,
A circle,
A figure eight,
On the silver ice,
I skate.

Darkness

by

Meghan Peck

In the daylight she is fine,
But in the darkness of night she isn't,
Monsters creep in her closet,
And under her bed,
Not a single pleasant thing is in sight,
She wonders where all her stuffed animals went,
For in their place are evil dragons,
So in the daylight she is fine,
But in the darkness she isn't.

Out My Window

by

Meghan Peck

Out my window I see,
A long willow branch tapping at my window,
It asks may I speek to you for I'm lonely,
You see I have but one friend,
The old maple tree,
The dogwoods can't stand me,
Neither can the oaks,
I wonder if you could be my friend,
Cherry tree,
But I am not a cherry tree,
But I have a friend who is,
Where, where,
She lives next to the dogwood,
On old Hickory Hill,
Well I must go meet Ms.Cherry Tree,
Farewell Ms.Friend of Cherry Tree.

The Nightengale's Song

by

Meghan Peck

Please Miss.Nightengale,
Sing me a song,
What did you say,
Sing a song about a sunny day,
But young girl it is raining,
Yes I know but you can still sing me a song about a sunny day,
It would cheer me up,
Well maybe on a sunny day said the nightengale.

I Cry When I Miss Him

by

Meghan Peck

I cry when one leaves,
I cry when I'm reminded,
Of days of fun with him,
I cry when I miss him,
My tears come out like a waterfall,
When I miss him,
I cry when I look at certain treasures,
My tears will ask me why they're pouring out of me,
But I give no answer,
They try and help,
But all they can do is cry with me,
I wonder if it was his time,
But I won't know for a long time,
But my heart has known all a long the truth,
That it was his time,
I still will never believe the truth,
For a long time,
Until he can tell me it,
I cry when I miss him.

Whitewashing

by

Meghan Peck

I walk down the old river,
That is surrounded by a white picket fence,
I run my stick against it,
It makes a soft rrrrrrik sound,
I fear to be caught,
For this fence has just been painted,
And if any marks are left,
I'll be in trouble,
I go back to my book,
Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain,
Thomas John McGill,
What do you think you're doing,
Nothin' at all mom,
I know what you did,
Now you come get some paint,
And paint that fence over,
How about usin' whitewash,
Like in the book Tom Sawyer,
All right,
Now I really feel like Tom Sawyer,
Anyone what to have fun and whitewash a fence?

A Piece Of My Heart

by

Meghan Peck

A piece of my heart,
Has fallen away,
A part that can't be replaced,
For eternity,
It has left me,
Until it meets me again,
That time is far off,
It will meet me,
In a special place,
That piece will,
Comfort me,
I wonder if the piece,
Misses me,
For I miss it deeply,
Is the piece lonely,
Well it shouldn't,
For there are many,
Other pieces with one,
It is an important piece,
That can not be replaced,
Someday that piece will comfort me,
And I will comfort it,
In a special place,
Called heaven.

The Feather

by

Meghan Peck

A feather falls,
From its nest,
It travels through,
The great big sky,
Wandering through the,
Soft clouds,
Looking and searching,
For another white feather,
It wanders through the great,
Big sky,
But can not find another,
White feather,
So it leaves the great big sky,
And wanders down to the great big ocean,
But thinks "this is no place for me or any white feather",
So he leaves and continues,
His search on land,
Maybe I will find a white feather here,
But all he finds are his nest,
But wait there is another white feather,
So he swoops down with such enthusiasm,
That he loses control and lands,
Right in the soft little hands of a little girl.

So There I Stand

by

Meghan Peck

so there i stand,
looking through that wall,
pressing my hands,
trying to go through,
break through,
to touch him,
to feel his warmth,
live in the glow that surrounds him,
bask in his beauty,
become a part of him,
but i am stuck,
behind the wall,
apart from him,
his love,
his beauty,
separated,
eternally.
