Awaiting Sunrise.

by

Robert W Mullin

The earth was silent,
The universe was silent,
The Fox in his lair licked his lips,
Man, dwelt in his abomination,
Dreaming of his atrocities.
Voices were silent,
As the gas flowed.
Screams were silent,
Death was silent,
Awaiting sunrise.

Eyes could not see,
Did not want to,
It was quick,
The world would be better,
It was for the best,
Buried in a pit,
Out of sight,
Forgotten.
It was not me,
It was someone else.
