The passing of Christmas

by

Venida Meredith

The people, joyous, merry, happy, wait.
I know not what theyUre waiting for, do you?
Could it be Christmas, which, more soon than late;
Brings peace and joy to everyone anew.

The music which from all the earth does come,
Rings merrily and fills our hearts with peace.
Most people have a place that they call home,
Although they visit for how short a lease.

Soon Christmas does arrive with joy and cheer,
Then people open presents or read books.
And people go to church from far and near,
Then they admire the Christmas cookie cooks.

But every good thing has to go sometime;
In one year Christmas joy will be sublime.
