April Rain

by

Meg

Rain. Puddles, pools of water
Forming on the sidewalks and the streets
And old street lamps
Casting erie 'lumination
To he raindrops as they fall.

The sky comes reaching down to Earth
Drumming with long fingers of cool rain
Tap-tapping across old tin rooftops
And quiet misty footsteps
Fall pattering across the grass

The moon struggles behind clouds
Dropping narrow beams of light
Which pour from heaven's doorstep
Churning with the soft & somber rain
Giving brilliance to the night.

And old street lamps
Cast an erie 'lumination
To the raindrops as they fall.
