Why You Should Come To The Church Picnic

by

Deanna McDowell

Come
Walk awhile
We'll talk and smile
And share a thought or two
Then at days end
You'll have a friend
And I will have one too

The Boy's Fifteen

by

Deanna McDowell

Eyes of blue
Shaved head too
Eats round the clock
And caddies too
Has anybody seen my boy?

High school's got him
Most the day
Home, some chores
Then out to play
Has anybody seen my boy?

If you should run into
This boy of mine
Hug him for me
His rooms a mess
And I guess
The litter needs changing
The cat doesn't rest

So mark this day
That was so dear
The angels sang
And bells rang clear
Has anybody seen my boy?
