Let me be alone with You, my God.
Let me slip away tonight and feel the beating of Your heart.
Take me from this busy world of noise and strife,
and carry me free to Heaven's heights.
Let me hear Your gentle voice,
its call ringing out amid the silence.
I lie here waiting,
in rooms of clanging lights and dusty talk,
in places full of artificial joys that make me long for a simpler time.
But You, my Lord,
bring me the deeper peace,
You, my Highest Love,
the only One to die for me and live to hear my thanks.
Let me flee to You for one brief moment,
one brief moment of never-ending rest.
