Wet Hair

by

Mars

You have allowed me,
To see you,
In ways,
Never anticipated,
Unique for the person,
You are,

Through clear glass,
Uncovered but untouchable,
Through the mist of passion,
Beaded upon your skin,
Through your haze of doubt,
Creamed soup thick,
And in morning light,
At your most vulnerable,
Shower fresh,
With wet hair.

The Waters Fine

by

Mars

Shark! Her body’s lifeguard warned,
She stiffened, straightened,
Strained to see some sign,
Contained within the murky depths,
Beneath his civil surface,
Of the mindless muscle and cartilage,
Swimming forward for the kill,
She knows appearances can be deceiving,
But without the venture, never gain,
Reward is commensurate with the risk.

"Come in," the swimming Satan said.
"Come in, the water’s fine."
