Angels

by

Mysha Maples

Angels hide in different places
Angels have enchanting faces
Eyes that see right through your soul
Hands that catch you when you fall

Angels help you find your way
With the soothing words they say
With their gentle touch they heal
Broken hearts that bleed for real

Summon angels to your sight
When you cannot sleep at night
They shine brilliance on your dreams
Fill your world with radiant gleams

Let an angel ease your pain
Take your fears and make them wane
Kiss your tears until they've dried
Hold your hand and be your guide

Angels come from many places
Angels have entrancing faces
Hear them whisper all around you
As they're always there to find you

Will they...

by

Mysha Maples

Born again
Got a pair of brand new wings
I'm not the same
The world dances to the tune
My heart sings
Sunshine beaming from my face
Turns nights into days
Extends to those
I love the most

Lost again
Fears harbored deep inside
Broke free unchained
My soul tore open nowhere to hide
Locked in my private Hell
My words like daggers fell
On those
I love the most

Will they still stand beside me
Once I've struggled and won
Will they cheer me through my victory
When the nightmares are all gone
Will their reassuring voices
Tell me that I'm not alone
Will they help me make my choices
Will they keep me moving on

The Impossible

by

Mysha Maples

Trapped
In the maze
Of monstrous misconceptions
I stumble and fumble
For a tiny bit of the real me
For some truth
For a light my eyes won't fail to see
I'm lost in here too deep
For anyone to rescue me
But if you ever hear me cry
Please pray
For someone who will try
To do the impossible
And save my life

Stay

by

Mysha Maples

Where are you going
Can you tell me where
Icy gales are blowing
It's so cold out there
Can't you see those ravens
Circling in the air
Where do you want to go
Can you tell me where
Are you sure it's the right thing
To say good bye just now
After you've heard those lies
Which you've believed somehow
Now you're leaving without me
And I feel it's unfair
Where is it you are going
Please just tell me where

Transubstantiation

by

Mysha Maples

Come see this Light
Disperse the night
Let its rays erase your sorrow
A new life begins tomorrow
Love will never abandon this world
As angels in Heaven singing in accord
Are holding hands and forming chains
To entwine this planet without which
The cosmic clusters would not exist
Forget the night
Behold the Light
See Darkness swallow the Evil Beast
The Magnitude of Creation
Is now revealed
In Divine Transubstantiation

An Angel

by

Mysha Maples

Life's put her through so many heartaches
And done its best to make her fall
Everyone else would curse it or stop living
But she still says she loves it above all
She's holding out

Could be she's an angel sent down from above
To show people like me
How a woman's weakness turns into her strength
She's all I would like to be

She's never given way to her fears
And her eyes smile through tears
When she's where hardly anyone could cope
She keeps on hoping though there's no hope
She's holding out

Could be she's an angel sent down with the rain
To make me think and see
How strong a woman can grow with pain
She's all that I need in me

A human angel with the biggest heart
That overflows
With love for those
Whose words are tearing her apart

She's holding out
Against all odds
She's holding out

Eulogy

by

Mysha Maples

In Loving Memory of Asia...
my precious soul mate whose life was taken abruptly and prematurely in the bloom of her youth, on Jan.3, 2002:

Words don't you forsake me here as I remain
In the darkest abyss of heart-rending pain
She was a special angel once sent my way
Beauty at its finest, sunshine to each day
The sweet-sounding voice now silenced by death
The loving heart motionless after her last breath
Precious lips always smiling, now unmoving and cold
Lovely blue eyes now closed for eternity untold
Fragile little hands seemed to know no rest until
In the dark of the chapel they were seen lying still
Where are you, my little rose, can't you just see
The world will no longer be the same without thee
Seems we'll drown in the ocean of the tears we cry
At the nightmarish moment of the ultimate good-bye
Words don't you forsake me as I'm trying to pray
Seeking comfort with Jesus, hoping He will say
It's alright, child, she's here, brighter than the sun
I've duly repaid her for the good she's done
Look deep in your heart, feel the peace she'll send
And be ready to meet her in my Holy Land

Humanity

by

Mysha Maples

Aren't we mighty, the humans of today
Having made this planet
Into a toy with which we play
Aren't we humans powerful
In how hard we try
In how far and deep we penetrate
The depth of our endless sky
In how we bring a new life
Into this world
In how we nurture love
And how we learn to grow
In how we share our joys and tears
To become one after the years
In how we give and forgive
And never cease to believe

But... aren't we humans powerless
With the cruel laws of Nature upon us
With the raging evil around us
And when the ones we love and need
Choose not to follow our lead
But go and tread a different ground
We feel we've lost yet we're dying to win
And there's this gap between
The things we look for and what we have found
And aren't we humans helpless
When the heart yearns for someone
Who belongs to another
And the paths get too tangled
To ever find each other

But that is Humanity, my friend
That's what it's all about
From the start to the very end
No matter how you think or act
It all comes down to this basic fact
No more, no less
Learn to handle it with coolness
Though at times it gets so bad
Take it as your daily bread
However absurd it sounds
That's the way it must be
And you best take it as it comes
