Love The Symbol of Eternity

Love is a symbol of eternity
It confounds all notion of time
Effaces all memory of a begining
All fear of an end
Absence in the enemy of love
But we may say that it is the soul
It is a ruling passin' in the mind
It is the body, a wholly secret
And a delicate longin'
To posses what we love

Love is a gentle smile
Upon the lips of beauty
Only that day dawns
To which we are awake
Who are wise in love
Love most, say least
The heart that loves
Is always young

The sea has its pearls
The heaven its stars
But my heart has its love

Love means the body, the soul
And the entire being
Love is so small a thing
To have enjoyed the sun,
To have enjoyed life in the spring
To have loved
To have thought
To have done?
