Soft Morning

by

Brenda D. Madison

the softness of the early morning
echoes a pathway to peace
a distant , silent sound
swept over the ocean
the essence of the sea melted
my memory
and the newness of the sunlight
begin to reach in to the future

Cool Tears

by

Brenda D. Madison

The blaring sound of the alarm clock
woke the prison doors of my mind

Tears overflowing like a pool of water

My head layed in my hands like a stone
crushed to the ground

A locked white gate
opened the corners of my memory
and Cool Tears ease the pain of the heartache

I Thrist

by

Brenda D. Madison

Stretching forth my hands
into broken glass
I Thrist
for the power of laughter

the doors of my lips
drip blood
through the storms,winds and rain
I Thrist
to find a spring of water

a fractured promise
broke wings of hope
I Thrist
crying for mercy
in a desert sun
