My Rock, My Friend Forever

You taught me
As was your job,
But seeing more
You befriended me.

You know the real me
Understanding my feelings,
Supporting my dreams,
Opening my life.

You believe in me,
You encourage me,
You see the best in me,
You stand beside me.

Through the laughter,
Through the pain,
You are there
Always with your heart.

Remembering the kiss on bended knee,
Never forgetting the inside jokes,
And the birthday surprises
They all make me smile.

Many friends have come into my life,
Many friends have gone out of my life,
You have stayed and promised
To be here forever.

Calling you my rock in life,
I know you will always be there
A rock that never moves,
A rock that weathers the storms.

The storms are hard to weather
But having a friend like you,
They don’t seem impossible
Knowing my rock is always there.

People come into our lives,
Special people sent from God,
You will always be my lifelong friend
And a special angel in my heart forever.
