DeathPower

by

Jacqueline Lourenco

I begin to snicker as I see thee in adversity,
Your body suffers as I cause you distress.
My acuminated nail slashes your throat,
As I watch you scream in agony.

Now you lie here before me,
Your soul has been stolen,
Your corpse forsaken,
And all that is left is your deceased body,
Before me in your sanguine blood.

All shall now scorn immortals such as I, the heinous Goddess of Death,
Your family, friends, and relatives,
Will never know the cause of your mysterious death.
For I can be invisible or present as I wish,
Alternating my appearance as I please.

No mortal shall ever be able to elucidate this mystical death,
For only: I know all, I see all, I ammall.
Your family grows acrimoniously,
Yet I am the adament immortal,
Who never seems pusillanimous,
For I do not lack courage,
I do not experience fear,
Nor am I ever terror-stricken.

I, only possess all past lore,
As this mystery will oppress everyone,
Rotting each powerless mind,
As I stand here guilty,
As a smirk cross my face....
