Last Leg of the Race (human that is)

by

Rose N Lortie

Weíre living in a senior home
Where old and broken bodies moan
And the mind is off on itsí own..

We push a walker down the halls
Or ride a wheel chair into walls
We hope and pray that no one falls.

Eyes are fixed on a sunshine ray
And smiles are for that joyful day
So long ago so far away.

When everything is said and done
We only wish to have some fun
But we canít move nor walk nor run.

We bide the time, we sit and wait
To catch that special bus called "Fate"
That drives us to Saint Petersí Gate.

So now the circle is complete
There are no arms no legs no feet
