Realize the Real Life

by

Glynnis Lopez-Peaks

It's all just a phasod, a veneer, it will all soon vanish disappear, many want to hold on to it, reaching for it like an marage in the desert, gone are the dreams, the things many craved for, the things hoped for, no more will it be a reality, or something in their memory, glad to see it gone, It held many, like a dog panting for more, It held out temptations, emptiness, that's all it seems, glad to see it gone, the real life holds out so much more, than emptiness, sadness, broken dreams, discouragement................
Paradise, so real I can feel the warmth of the sun, just right, that is does no harm, the air I breathe smells so sweet, no contamination, my lungs jump with joy, my body growing stronger day by day, I can hear the laughter of children not so far away, no fear that they will be removed, animals grazing in the fields, lions, lambs, and bears, all together sharing the beautiful green, it should be as real for you as it is for me, for what God promises will be, Forever, Forever, Forever..............

Beyond The Color Of The Skin

by

Glynnis Lopez-Peaks

When you look beyond the color of the skin you'll see that there are no differences therein, between your heart and mine, when you look beyond the color of the skin there are no differences therein, between your brain and mine, when you look beyond the color of the skin there are no differences therein, between the color of your blood and mine, the only difference that we can see is that you may possess a little more or a little less melanin than me, but if there were no variations in the color of the skin, it would not be as beautiful or colorful in the world for which we're in, when you look beyond the color of the skin there are no differences therein, when you look beyond the color of the skin at the beauty within, you'll see the real person and not the color of the skin

Love's Hope Endures

by

Glynnis Lopez-Peaks

Through the years love has blessed me with the joys of a new day. It started off as a small seed inside the belly of life. As it grew, who knew it would grow into something so beautiful, more precious than anyone could imagine. With the waters of God's love it grew stronger and more beautiful. In time the seasons of change would come, and put it to the test. The winter winds brought about a striving to endure. The long summer heat tried to beat the life out of it. But the beauty, the life, and the love survived the trials placed upon it by the Devil's snares. Love's Hope Endures.

Life's Race

by

Glynnis Lopez-Peaks

When you're young life is so carefree, you never think about what you'll have to face, Life's Race. When you're young the things that are important to those that take care of you aren't all that important to you, Life's Race. All the days of play continue to pass away, you never seem to worry about the next day, Life's Race. Your mother and father always say, "You'll be grown someday," And when you do, you'll say, "I wish I was young again," Life's Race. Those sayings all come true when you wake up one day and you too are a parent raising your own young ones, Life's Race, And so, life's race continues.

So Grateful

by

Glynnis Lopez-Peaks

I'm so grateful to have you to know you, it seems my life had just begun, before I merely existed, feeling the pains that exist due to life's injustices, one man sent us spiraling down a precipice with death in sight, another one rescues us from our plight, I knew once I allowed myself to let you in, that's when things would truly begin, one blessing after another, I'm so truly grateful that you touched my life, It's nice to know that you are there, you answer me when I call, even when I fall, you are not moved by me, many times I've disappointed you, but like a mountian that is unmoveable, I call to you, and you answer me, I think, how can you love me? I don't deserves you, many times you have fondled my soul like the faithful men of old, I'm so grateful to have come to know you

Mother

by

Glynnis Lopez-Peaks

Mother, she is the one that holds the key
Open the door and you will see, all
The things she will try to shelter you from,
Her love for you, she thought would overcome,
Enter not the door of life, but if you do take heed she pleads
Return to me when life seems grim and I will try to comfort you from within

Momma

by

Glynnis Lopez-Peaks

It started with a love so new, it grew and grew and grew, it was a tempest, it was calm as a morning new, and plenty to do, braid hair, take care, wake up no time for despair, high fever, low achievers, just take care. There was no time for you, too much to do, just take care, tended to all that needed mending, loved to share, no time for despair, just take care, constant worry always in a hurry, bandaging a wounded knee, mending a broken heart, always there caring and sharing, there was never enough time for only you, a momma to all that came her way, a beautiful smile, charming glance, a jolly laugh, a wonderful cook no one could compare, always there, she always cared, I’ll see you soon in God’s earth made new, and when I do I’ll say, " I missed you," until that day she’ll never be far from my heart.
