A Dream Come True

by

Richard Lester

You are the dream,
Born of 10,000 sleeps,
Your love could dry the tears,
That a broken heart weaps,
You are the wish,
Made upon 10,000 stars,
Yours is the promise,
Kept from afar,
Yours are the arms,
That hold my heart near,
Yours is the voice,
My soul yearns to hear,
Yours is the beauty,
Warm and radiant,
Like the sun after rain,
Yours are the lips,
I long to kiss again,
You are the one,
Who I dream of everynight,
Even though you're not here with me,
In my heart you are held,
Oh so tight.

More Than A Friend

by

Richard Lester

What do you do,
When friendship crosses that line,
What can you say,
When you've only know them a short time,
How do you go about it,
When you're afraid of what they'll say,
How do you stop thinking about them,
When they're on your mind everyday.

A Teary Pathway

by

Richard Lester

From the corner,
A tear was wept,
Tracing the lines,
Of cheekbones set high,
Conforming to the curvature,
Of a runny nose,
Down the laugh-lines,
Now devoid of sun,
Rolling further now,
Gathering in speed,
Over the chins cliff,
Onto the pillow,
Now dampened,
Sadly.

Wasted Life

by

Richard Lester

Sleekness of edge,
A silky touch,
Caresses yielding flesh,
Warmth,
Free flowing from within,
Sashes of red,
Now worn on wrists,
How freely the life blood flows,
Light is fading now,
Time loses all meaning,
As the sun sets,
One last time.
Darkness,
Eventually closes over all light,
Devoiding life,
Of all that it,
Could ever have been.

Why you draw me near

by

Richard Lester

What is it about you,
That draws me near?
Why do I want you,
To stay with me here?
It's your gentle embrace,
That permeated my soul,
Your warm caring eyes,
That shine like stars when night unfolds,
Your sweet enchanting personality,
Refreshing like a mid-summers rain,
Your stunningly attractive smile,
That echos forever on in my brain.

A Relationship in the Making

by

Richard Lester

Pain and hurt,
Two words,
Synonymous with love.

Past experiences,
Holding back,
What could be.

Friendship first,
Building trust,
Letting love grow.

Holding hands,
Beach walks,
Eyes across coffee.

Long hugs,
Feeling grow,
The first kiss.

First kiss,
Warm, gentle,
Slow, meaningful, memorable.

Two hearts,
Reaching out,
Finding one another.

Live life,
Grow, learn,
Forgive, trust, love.

I remember your eyes

by

Richard Lester

I could stare into your eyes forever,
Happily gazing off into eternity,
We walk hand in hand along the beach,
Under a star speckled sky,
Enjoy long conversations of silence,
Where a look says so much more,
Hands touching, softly fingers caress,
A slight touch, felt all over.

Then everything fades away,
Your last touch lingers,
but only for a second,
Now i lay awake,
The dream is over,
And you are gone.

Then again i remember your eyes,
I could stare into your eyes forever...

The Eternal Search

by

Richard Lester

Everday we are searching,
Unconciously looking,
Never knowing for what,
Until oneday,
All it takes is a few seconds,
And you are hooked.

Only In My Dreans

by

Richard Lester

In the still of the night,
As slowly the rain falls down,
I close my eyes and lay awake,
But soon you will come around
I feel your presence,
Inside and out,
I reach out to touch you,
But you are not about,
So, still I lay,
And eventually I will sleep,
Dreaming of being held,
In your ever loving arms,
Forever on till I awaken,
You may just be a dream,
But oneday I will find you,
And that special day will be,
The day my dreams come true.

Untitled

If love was only a dream,
I'd sleep forever to be in your arms,
If love was only for a day,
I'd give forever for it to stay,
If love ever left you sad and blue,
I'd give you all my heart to see you through,
If love was just me and you,
I'd give you all my love,
Everyday,
Over and over,
And over,
Again

You

by

Richard Lester

I wanted you when,
Your smile lit up my life,
Your laughter broke my silence,
Your warmth filled my senses,
And when you weren't by my side.

I needed you when,
Everyday seemed empty,
Empty without you here,
Empty without your voice,
Your touch,
You near.

I loved you when,
Our eyes first met,
As you opened the door,
The door to your house,
And the door to my heart.

I want you still,
I need you still,
I love you still,
With all my heart,
My special angel.

In Loving Memory of Mum and Dad.

by

Richard Lester

Now there is emptiness,
Where once there was love,
Now that you are gone,
I feel so alone.

I think about you both often,
And when I least expect it,
I just break down and cry,
Like Iím still your little boy.

And now at night,
Before I lay my weary head down,
I do something that I never thought Iíd do,
And I pray.

In the quietness of the night,
I whisper prayers for you both,
And to help get me through,
And I live in hope.

I hope that this is just a dream,
But then morning comes and I awaken,
Youíre still gone,
And Iím still here.

Iím still here alone,
Alone, but you are both here with me,
Carried along,
Always in my heart and forever in my dreams.

And I know that I can never say goodbye,
I will never forget you both,
And all that you sacrificed,
Just for me.

Iím glad that I told you Dad,
How much you meant to me,
And how you enriched my life,
I love you and I miss you.

Mum, I was so blessed to have,
A mother such as you,
Whenever the dark clouds rolled in,
My sun was always you.

Eventually I too must go,
Go softly into the night,
Away from all of this,
And peace will be waiting for me.

But it is not my time yet,
Not for a while,
With all my heart I love you,
Be together,
And be happy,
For now,
For ever,
In life as in death,
Love always,

Richard.

For Hawk

by

Richard Lester

I know I am ready for this,
As I sit here,
Thoughts of you fill my mind.

You bring out the best in me,
You always have,
You have always been there for me,
With a hug and a kind word.

You are so amazing,
Kind, honest, caring,
And beautiful too,
Both inside and out.

I am so lucky to have you in my life,
You never fail to bring a smile to my face,
I trust you completely,
And that says a lot about who you are.

I value you,
As a friend,
A confident,
And so much more.

Anyway I just wanted to say these few things,
Without overdoing it,
I am so glad to know you,
And to be with you.

We started off as such good friends,
And as they say,
From friendship the best things grow.

When you left

by

Richard Lester

When you left,
There was more than just,
A space left in my heart,
You also took my world as I knew it with you

So many days,
And nights Iíve cried,
Wished you back into my life,
And yet another day dawns.

Another day,
Another wish,
Another memory made,
Another day passes.

So many things,
That I have wanted to share,
So many milestones,
You would be so proud of me,

Your grand-daughter,
I see you in her,
And that both lifts me up,
And brings me down.

I miss our talks on the phone,
I wanted to ring you tonight,
And shout happily,
Iím engaged!

You would love Jenna,
She makes my heart soar,
And that silly smile (you know the one)
Is fixed seemingly permanently to my face.

But we still talk,
In our own special way,
I fill you in on my life,
And imagine what you would say.

There are so many things you have taught me,
That I have used along the way,
You are always that little voice in my ear,
Offering advice even to this day.

And so while I still miss you,
And forever that will be
I want you to know I am happy,
Living a life filled of love.
