The Sound of Autumn

by

Lemau

I stand in awe in front of
the bending trees
when the wind mercilessly howls
his way through the poorly dressed twigs
hugging the yellow reddish leaves
in a final embrace,
making them fall and gather in noisy bunches,
I can hear the soft tears the cold sky drops
seating quietly as pearls among the brown heaps
when suddenly a late bird cries his way
probably missing his long lost nest.

it's getting late

by

Lemau

For lack of water, the rose faded and died,
Because yesterday’s newspaper was no longer new,
The wind pushed it away to warm somebody’s fire.
In like manner,
One day,
Just when i run out of tears,
And my heart is as dry
As a hot summer midday,
I will probably want
To cry out my thoughts,
Surely, i'd wish to say
What i never dared before,
But it will be too late,
My voice too weak,
My body frail,
My eyes useless,
My spirit beaten,
Outdated me!

Christmas now

by

Lemau

Christmas is here
and the world turns to watch
the beautiful Child in his crib:
His promising smile,
His hands at peace
His blessed soul.
And He looks back
at the world...
through His tears.

You are gone but not

by

Lemau

I hear nothing but the echoing of your voice,
I see nothing but your shadow
ghostly walking behind me,
You are everywhere and nowhere,
My life is like a cloud
full of rain and snow and hail
waiting for a sunrise
that never seems to come.
