let's go out tonight
"where"
we'll just go
"alright"
they meet at a cajun cafe. he has on leather.
she wears a grass skirt. they are seated.
handed menus. he spits at the waiter. she
picks her nose and rubs it on her arm.
they share a platter of spare ribs and spiced corn.
she loses a tooth in the corn.
he stabs her with a fork. they both giggle.
then they hit the boogie floor.

CERTAIN SONGS

Are there certain songs that get you going?
When you hear them you get up and do something.
I like to smoke when I hear certain songs.
There was, however, this one dude who would
paint his fingernails gray.
When he ran out of nails he'd paint his elbows.
And if a good rock n' roll song came on the radio,
he'd paint the eggs in the fridge.
Once he ran outside and painted his car.
He moved on to a tree, then onto the entire neighborhood.
He kept going until the country was gray.
All except a little flower hidden under a banana peel.
The little flower began spitting red everywhere.
