The Annual Bloomer

by

K. Landry

The time is coming for me to fly
Spread my wings to a place not neigh
The springtime brings out restless bones
That wait in hibernation 'til the flowers bloom
The warm moist comes breezily blowing
Bringing thoughts of ubiquitous jelly-flowing
Between the ears and licking the blood with fresh air
Turning it ruby red from misty blue in here
Lazy ways breed lazy days
But fervor builds deep in the veins
Spring cleaning of internal flesh and heart
Gives the drag gray day a resilient bright start
So feeling clean and clear again
Relaxing and relishing in the sweet honey dew moments
Of my life as it is, or will be
Before fall and winter come again to capture me

The Truth of Night

by

K. Landry

Cries from beyond the silenced hills
There is where the secrets lie
Not in truth that shows the lies
But under stale rockes of people's lives
Minds work overtime thinking in dreams
Making sense of what has come to pass
Filling in the incredible gaps
Between seen stories and tales of the heart
Is what lies beneath in the cold and the dark
Dreams of things not wanting realization
Remain fantasy under false compensation
When sleep fades and night is done
Day comes, a shrug, all notions gone
Explanations of a frivolous imagination
Smothers hope for further investigation
Our feet hit the ground, tangible belief
So are our lives, existing in false relief
