Depression

by

Holly Kyle

pterodactyl gripping, pulling, reaching,
claws that tear,
beak that burns and eyes that blaze;
suffication and darkness
beating heart and blood red tissue
gripped by claws.

drowning
sinking
dying
red, black
fire and heat...Then the light.

curled up, uncontrolled
tears, alone, misunderstood

The light struggles

it begins to fade as despair sets in
then it is Fanned and dimmly, faintly it Glows
Slowly it grows and with it comes
Green and Blue, Peace, Calm...almost Hope
and the pterodactyl flies away

Yet still it perches watching and waiting
for again.
