If I jumped

by

Kworb

My eyes glued to the frozen lake,
feet on the edge of a cliff.
I exhale a cloud of despair,
watch it wither in a breeze.

If I jumped,
would my sorrow implode,
would I crash into forgetfulness
upon touching the cold?

If I jumped,
would it hurt,
unleashing my hidden pains
in that very last second?

If I jumped,
would I just procrastinate
further suffering
to times in a beyond?

Fear reflects itself in the ice,
makes me look away.
I'm too afraid of the unknown
that haunts this decision.
