Running from Fate

by

Kyle E. Kosicki

Only you hold the key to your own destruction
Create your destiny create your dysfunction
take yourself out let your self live
even if your hat is all you have to give

Repeat the same cycles repeat the same past
construct your own downfall plan your own crash
run from the same mistakes your sure to make again
run from your own hate thats become your best friend

kill off your own being to get away from broken life
kill off your own being with the dull rusty knife
Create you own future and learn from the past
If you run from your fate how long can you last!

Hate. An injustice to man

by

Kyle E. Kosicki

Contemplating the word hate, many Questions com to mind. Why do we humans as a collective look at others as inferiors because of differences? Is this type of behavior acceptable or necessary? Is there anything we can do to better understand one another and see through the small things that separate us? I will attempt to explain my feelings and opinions on these issues that seem to tear this country, continent and world apart.
Humans. We are so selfish in this world. We look at another as lower than us for many reasons. Skin color, race religion, sexual preference and even things as petty as the cloths we where. But in all actuality we are all the same in more than a few ways. You and I all share the same basic emotions fear, happiness, embarrassment, love, honor, melancholy and depression are more than a small number but most definitely not an all inclusive list. All of us must eat to maintain health and keep our body nourished for the energy required to make it through each day. We all grasp to family and friends for companionship support and sometimes just a hug or a pat on the back. To me (and I am sure I am not alone!) looking at someone like they are lesser than "you" is more than likely the individual making the judgments feeling like they themselves are inferior. Or maybe it is a complex of having a low self-esteem. It is also likely that the individual is uncomfortable with thems!
elves for the same reason. therefore they point the problem out in others to draw the attention away from themselves.
These un-justified actions upon our fellow man are un-acceptable. It destroys the relations between our race as humans. To separate ourselves from one another is to separate ourselves from the basic ideas we think that man as a whole shares. One must honestly ask himself what really separates him from somebody else (at least in the form of hate from prejudice or stereo-type) is the fact that they are to close-minded to see the similarities they share with those they discriminate against. If loving our fellow man in a plutonic sense is so difficult then humanity will eventually destroy its self from the inside out. Unfortunately I feel that this is alot closer than we could even fathom.
It is sometimes overlooked how great of a difference can be made just by one person making an attempt to reach out to someone different than them. Imagine the possibilities if acceptance is attained by even one person. A white man gratefully shakes the hand of an African man who in turn comforts a homosexual with a problem who then turns and has a cup of coffee with a strait man which makes a suggestion to a female that will spread the great happenings in the day to a vertically challenged person that eats lunch with a counselor who pushes a mentally disabled man in a wheel chair whose smile brightens the whole world because he is at peace. If this is something that could be a part of every day life then hate, prejudice and stereotypical behavior is by no means acceptable and is morally unreasonable. Unfortunately too many people don’t see things that way.
Our lives are too short. Why waste our time in insignificant differences? Please I implore those who have had the opportunity to read this to try and apply the principles of this thesis. Try to have not wasted the time to read this only to have a closed mind. It is not difficult to give a hand shake to someone different than ourselves or our family instilled morals (or lack there of). Please try to help humanity by thinking of others rather than ourselves.

Beds and Bottles

Stained in blood pictures release fantasy
im simply out of luck involved in nothing
a liquid heart consistency
mind is blistering

scream these words aloud in faith
faith to nothing I praise
a solidified sanctum a wraith
to try and cease the day and chase

mirrors should only be shattered
eyes should always be averted
sing as if it mattered
write to only be reworded

love is always never forgotten
hate is never always left behind
these stains are never completely cleansed
neither are the bitter answers of time

proof reading the essay of my life
so many mistakes over and over again
need to reveille my final bed
where did this insignificance begin

found it all
lost it now
retrieved again
only to break it into the pieces that have been built into
this nothing called me

sitting at the bottom of a bottle

MY RUDDER

by

Kyle E. Kosicki

IMAGINE A VIKING SHIP
MEN ALONG THE SIDES PADDLING
A MAN STANDING IN THE FRONT DICTATING WHAT’S HAPPENING

IF ALL DO NOT OBEY
THE SHIP WILL SURLY BE OF COURSE
SO WHY SHOULD I NOT LISTEN AND STEER US TO THE WRONG PORT

IF I CONTROL THE RUDDER
BUT HE CONTROLS THE SHIP WE SAIL
SHOULDN’T I LISTEN TO THE CAPTAINS GUIDANCE LET HIS WORDS PREVAIL

THE VESSAL WE SAIL IS ME
GOD IS THE GUIDING CAPTAIN THAT SPEAKS TO ME
I CHOOSE TO STEER THE SHIP THAT IS ME THROUGH GOD IN HARMONY
